Who is Eligible
For specific eligibility requirements, a student may view the Federal Student Guide at https://studentaid.gov/
In general, to be eligible for financial aid a student must:

Demonstrate financial need, except in the case of some loan programs;

Have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent (General Educational Diploma - GED);

Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a regular student working toward a degree or certificate in an eligible program, or be enrolled in a transfer program leading to a bachelor’s degree;

Be a U.S. Citizen or eligible non-citizen;

Meet Selective Service requirement as specified by federal regulations;

Meet the Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements;

Not be in default on a state or federal loan;

Not be engaged in the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possession of a controlled substance during the period covered by federal student aid;
-
Not be receiving financial aid at two schools during the same semester.
Privacy Act
To protect privacy, all records and conversations between a student and the financial aid office staff are confidential. No public announcement shall be made of need-based amounts awarded to students. No information concerning a student’s financial aid record will be released to anyone outside of the Financial Aid Office without that student’s permission, in accordance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act. Students must complete a Release of Information Form before we can release any information to anyone other than the student (i.e. parents, spouses, etc.).
