Student Spotlight
We are currently featuring Jazmin D. Morales, of Lubbock, TX. Jazmin started her journey as a non-traditional student at SPC. She completed her Associate of Arts in Psychology from South Plains College in 2022. In May 2024, she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology major with a double minor in Forensic Science and Spanish. Jazmin is interested in all things psychology and is a generalist when it comes to her research interests. She has found a passion in studying personality and assessment alongside diagnosis and treatment. Jazmin aims to pursue graduate school to obtain her PhD in clinical/counseling psychology. In her free time, Jazmin enjoys reading books, trying new coffee shops, getting lost in writing her novel, and spending time with her family.
When asked what SPC has meant to her, Jazmin responded:"
South Plains College has played a very important role in my academic life. SPC helped to guide me in the direction that I needed to pursue my dream of becoming a psychologist. Every class, professor, and advisor provided not only their knowledge but also their continued support in my path. I was better prepared for the coursework and continued to remember the things I learned over the years at SPC. When I transferred to TTU, I felt at ease that I had knowledge about the courses and used my study techniques that I learned until graduation. South Plains College has been a great part of my academic journey, and I cannot express my gratitude enough to all the staff and faculty who made my experience nothing less than wonderful! I don’t think that I would have been able to continue my undergraduate career without the help of the SPC family!"
